Forma Design Studios is a full-service architecture and engineering practice serving Michigan. One studio carries your project from concept design through structural, civil, and construction documents — no handoffs between firms.
Most projects need an architect and an engineer. Forma gives you both, coordinated from day one, so your construction documents are consistent, code-compliant, and ready to submit for permit.
Concept design, space planning, and construction drawings tailored to how the building will actually be used.
Structural analysis and licensed structural drawings, developed alongside the architectural design rather than after it.
Site design, grading, and civil documentation coordinated with local municipal requirements.
Complete, licensed drawing sets prepared for permit submission and ready for contractors to build from.
Drawings for remodels, additions, and adaptive reuse that respect the constraints of an existing structure.
Support through bidding and construction, so the design intent carries through to the finished building.
We start by understanding the site, the budget, and how the space needs to work, then sketch initial design directions.
The architectural design is refined while our engineers begin structural and civil planning in parallel — not after the fact.
Coordinated architectural, structural, and civil drawings are prepared and finalized, ready for permit submission.
We respond to municipal comments and stay available through bidding and construction to keep the project on track.
Principal Architect
Akanksha leads Forma's design studio, holding a Master of Architecture from the University of Detroit Mercy. She works directly with clients on every project, from initial concept through construction, and coordinates with Forma's in-house engineers to keep design and engineering aligned from the start.
Whether it's a single-family remodel or a new commercial building, we'll scope the design and engineering work together.
